ð Beneath the moonlight, a broken soul makes her final stand… ðļð
This week we’re returning to one of the most emotional encounters in Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood with “Wayward Daughter”, the unforgettable battle theme of Tsukuyomi.
Composed by Masayoshi Soken, this haunting piece accompanies the final confrontation with Yotsuyu goe Brutus, a woman whose life was shaped by cruelty, betrayal, and suffering.
After losing her memories, Yotsuyu becomes the innocent Tsuyu, seemingly finding the peace and kindness she had always been denied. But when her painful past returns, she embraces the power of the moon goddess Tsukuyomi, turning her sorrow and anger into one final, desperate battle. ðâïļ
The music tells her story beautifully. The Japanese female vocals express Yotsuyu’s suffering, while the English male chorus echoes the cruel voices of her tormentors.
Even the Japanese title, æäļå―žåēļčą (Gekka Higanbana), meaning “Red Spider Lily Beneath the Moonlight,” reflects the tragedy surrounding her fate.
As Tsukuyomi unleashes Nightbloom, a delicate piano melody rises into a powerful musical climax, creating one of those unforgettable moments where story, battle, and music become one. ðđðļ
We hope you enjoy our Bard interpretation of this beautiful and heartbreaking Final Fantasy masterpiece! ðķð
