โ๏ธ A prince born to rule. A warrior desperate to prove his worth. A battle for something far greater than a throne. ๐๐ฅ
This week we’re returning to Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail with “Seeking Purpose”, the powerful battle theme accompanying the confrontation with Zoraal Ja in Everkeep.
Known as the First Promise of Tuliyollal and the only trueborn son of the legendary Dawnservant Gulool Ja Ja, Zoraal Ja was destined for greatness from the moment he was born.
A formidable warrior and commander of the Landsguard, his strength earned him admiration throughout Tural. Yet beneath his reputation lies a man consumed by expectations, ambition, and the desperate need to prove that his existence has meaning.
His journey eventually leads him down a dark path, transforming a once-respected prince into one of Dawntrail’s most tragic antagonists.
And when the Warrior of Light finally confronts him in Everkeep, the battle becomes more than a clash of weapons. It is the culmination of a lifetime spent chasing a purpose that always seemed just beyond his reach. โ๏ธ๐
Musically, “Seeking Purpose” is especially fascinating.
Arranged by Daiki Ishikawa, the track reimagines musical elements from “Smile”, transforming a melody associated with hope and celebration into something far more dramatic and emotionally charged.
Even its Japanese title, ใฌใพใณใใผใใซ (Raison d’รชtre), reflects the heart of Zoraal Ja’s story: the search for a reason to exist.
For our latest Bard Performance, we wanted to bring this emotional and powerful Dawntrail theme to life with our Lalafell band. ๐ถโจ
We hope you enjoy our interpretation of Seeking Purpose!
